Dentistry is much the same way. While technology gives us long awaited alternatives to full dentures with the invent of implant surgery; the replacement of metal bands and bolts that have been a boon to schoolchildren for decades, with invisible, non-metallic braces; it has also brought us stronger, tooth-colored resins for fillings, sealants, and bonding; and safer, less intrusive sedation.
